Top-guided
A top-guided window is an outward-opening window. The sash is hinged to sliding rails mounted in the upper part of the jambs, and can be opened about 45º, depending on rescue opening requirements. The movement of the sash creates a ventilation opening between the sash and the head.
The closing mechanism for this window type is a handle-operated multipoint latch with ventilation position in the keepers and sliding rails with friction, which can hold the window in open position under normal weather conditions.
